Are you arguing that law enforcement and/or military should not use firearms?

Suicides will happen by other methods if not firearms. Accidents are *generally* not really "accidental", but rather the consequences of unsafe actions, and thus a function of personal responsibility.

I don't understand how you can lump them all together, but would like to.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1696618898580620397.post-27768073279756711512011-06-24T15:41:05.521-07:002011-06-24T15:41:05.521-07:00Bob, once again you distort my words. You compare only homicides, ignoring completely suicides, accidents, justified shootings, military shootings of civilians, and law enforcement shootings -- typical omissions from the pro-gun side, as if all those other modes of death are somehow unimportant.

If you go to the link I gave, you will see the numbers for all shootings, by nation. At 15.22 (the rate that was published in a peer-reviewed article), our rate was only beaten by four countries, all of which were involved with internal fighting (rebellion, civil war, or drug war) during that time frame.

So, no, I'm not a liar, and you need to stop saying so.Baldr Odinsonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1696618898580620397.post-26064306646296135872011-06-24T14:06:00.169-07:002011-06-24T14:06:00.169-07:00Baldr,
